A HumbleNest Initiative
Bringing 500 affordable, durable homes to Ontario's Far North — supporting mining communities and the hardworking Canadians building our nation's economic future.
The Region
The Ring of Fire is a vast, mineral-rich region in Ontario's Far North, known especially for its significant deposits of chromite, nickel, copper, and other critical minerals vital to Canada's resource economy.
Discovered in the early 2000s, it has the potential to support stainless steel production and clean energy technologies, making it strategically important to Canada's future and our role in the global supply chain.

Our Mission
We want to propose a programme that brings 500 homes up to the Ring of Fire to support not only the government and mining companies currently operating up there, but also the hardworking men and women helping to strengthen our Canadian economy.
We want to do this the best way we know how — with comfortable, quality living spaces built right here in Ontario. With extreme temperatures ranging from –55°C to +35°C, we're confident our homes can provide both relief and comfort through every Canadian season.
The Proposal
Using standardized designs and optimized logistics, HumbleNest has demonstrated delivery costs as low as $125,000 per unit (CAD) — substantially below traditional northern construction costs that often exceed $300,000–$400,000+ per unit. That's a game-changer for Canadian housing.
Engineered for Canadian winters: –55°C to +35°C
Start with immediate demand, then scale to 500
Far below traditional $300K–$400K northern builds

Timeline
HumbleNest is targeting 500 homes in 2–3 years, allowing for substantial growth in northern mining communities. This aligns with the priorities of both the Ontario and federal governments to address the housing crisis across Canada.

Partner with HumbleNest to bring sustainable, affordable housing to Northern Ontario's mining communities. Together, we can help solve Canada's housing crisis.
